Snow Covered River Comments Off

Gray, gray and more gray! All those shades of gray were exactly what the day looked like had you been there in person. I like the coldness of the mist coming down the hill in the background and I like the layout as far as balance goes. If I could shoot it again though, I [...]

A Snowy Path in the Woods Comments Off

I am in a very winter mood this week… This image feels a bit like those almost iconic ‘path through the woods’ pictures yet different thanks to all the snow. It feels almost welcoming though I remember walking down the trail and getting snow down the back of my jacket from the trees.

A Snowy Winter’s Day Comments Off

I like the almost gray scale effect the overcast sky and falling snow gave this image. It just makes it feel cold. Glad I am inside where it is warm.

Trees For Life Comments Off

Ok… There is some great photography on this site but mostly I just found it inspiring. People doing some great work in one of my favorite places in the world. I would love to get to do this in the not too distant future! Trees For Life

Eilean Doonan Comments Off

This castle is so iconic. It shows up in so many films and images, I was glad I had a chance to see it for my self. I do however find the sky distracting. All that nice detail in the foreground and the stones of the building and then the sky is so over exposed… [...]

Jester Comments Off

I tried for an insanely long time to get this shot without any traffic. Eventually I had to give up though. In the end I think the jester statue makes a rather nice focal point to the business of the scene around it. I also like how blue that little patch of sky looks – [...]

Apreciating Another Artist’s Work Comments Off

This photo falls more into the inspiration category than it does the photography category. I took it in York, England where I just happened across the sidewalk artist drawing it in my wanderings. It was really quite beautiful… yet with the first rain all the chalk will just wash away. Beautiful only in its time [...]

Scottish Thistle Comments Off

This image reminds me of the image of a thistle I saw in an old encyclopedia. It was taken at Culloden Moor in Scotland. I like it because it invokes good memories.

Pansies – Scotland Comments Off

I took this picture outside of a funny little B & B a bit North West of Inverness, Scotland. The place was closed at the time but the owners were kind enough to let us stop and use their rest room. I love the vibrancy of the colors in this image! The detail and the [...]

Church In The Fog Comments Off

It took me two mornings to get this shot. I saw fog create an image with very interesting depth characteristics one morning, tried to capture it, and discovered I had left the camera on over night and drained the battery. The light was a little different that morning and the church steeple just seemed to [...]
